Psalm 95:1-7 NLT

1 Come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. 2 Let us come to him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of praise to him. 3 For the Lord is a great God, a great King above all gods. 4 He holds in his hands the depths of the earth and the mightiest mountains. 5 The sea belongs to him, for he made it. His hands formed the dry land, too. 6 Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our maker, 7 for he is our God. We are the people he watches over, the flock under his care. If only you would listen to his voice today!

This passage takes us from the heights of praise to the depths of dejection. Extolling the many glorious attributes of God Almighty, we are called out to do everything we can to pay homage and honor him. We should be singing and shouting, reciting poetry to pay tribute to him, and kneeling down before him. After all, we are his people. God watches over us.

What are we thinking? Why aren’t we listening to his voice today? Why do we allow so many other voices clamoring for our attention drown out the voice of our Creator and Savior? Why is the loudest noise flooding the air, preventing me from hearing the words I long to hear, my own voice? God has done so much. Why can’t we do more to show our gratitude?…something to pray about.

Don’t forget to look for the Lord today. Vicki H.
